Program Philosophy

 

All children are eager to learn when given developmentally appropriate opportunities.  Children are provided an environment to develop positive attitudes toward self, others, and school through activities that build self- confidence, independence and responsibility necessary for future success in school and life.

Programs

 

The Child Development Programs are state and federally funded.  Families may qualify for free or reduced child-care services provided they meet the eligibility criteria. 

 

Children's Center:  Full time and part time child care with educational and nutritional emphasis. Two meals and two snacks are provided.   Parents must meet eligibility criteria:

 

•     Parents are employed, in training or seeking employment.

•     Income eligible

 

Year:                12 months

Hours:              7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Fee:                  Sliding scale

Ages:                3 - 5 years

Sites:                April Lane, Bernard Drive and

Mahal Children’s Center

 

 

 

Migrant Child Care:  Full day child care with educational and nutritional emphasis.

Two meals and two snacks are provided.  Parents must meet eligibility criteria:

 

•     Parents are employed in agriculture related fields, in training or seeking employment.

•     Income eligible:  50% or more of prior 12 months must be agriculturally related .

 

Year:                May - October

Hours:              5:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Fee:                  Sliding scale

Ages:                18 months to 5 years

Site:                  Bernard Drive

 

State Preschool:  Half-day educational program with parental involvement & participation. Two meals are provided for the morning sessions.  A meal and snack are provided for the afternoon session.

Parents must meet eligibility criteria:

•           Income eligible
