With your help the Yuba City Education Foundation (YCEF) will continue to fulfill its mission of helping students by eliminating barriers to learning. The Foundation has provided medical and dental help to meet basic student needs. Mini-grants have helped to fund start-up programs; such as, the observatory at Andros Karperos Middle School; stage lighting for performing arts at Gray Avenue Middle School; language arts video productions at River Valley High School, recognized by KQED. YCEF scholarships have assisted high school graduates with college expenses. YCEF has successfully brought businesses and individuals into partnership with district staff to assure student success and start new programs enhancing the learning environment, making education more relevant and meaningful to students.
The YCEF Sweetheart Ball is the signature event that
makes it all possible. This gala event features gourmet dining, dancing,
fine wine, and a selection of tempting silent auction and raffle
items. Attendance has exceeded 300 people annually, and all proceeds
benefit the children of Yuba City Unified School District.
